To mark Ageism Awareness Day (9 October) we have curated 28 book titles to inspire new perspectives on ageing. Pick up a free bookmark and start enjoying a great read.
Ageism Awareness Day is a reminder that ageism is impacting many lives across Australia.
To help promote positive and diverse stories about ageing, we have partnered with Councils in the Eastern Elder Abuse Prevention Network and Your Library to develop this reading initiative.
We have created a free bookmark featuring the recommended books. Pick up a free bookmark at the following locations:
- Knox Civic Centre
- Your Library branches in Boronia, Bayswater, Ferntree Gully, Knox, Miller’s Homestead and Rowville
- Various community and neighbourhood houses in Knox City Council
- Selected Knox Senior Festival events
Each book has been carefully curated to share powerful stories that challenge assumptions and encourage readers to reflect on their perceptions of different generations.
With titles for children, young people and adults, there is a book that will keep you glued to the pages. Loan the books from your local library today.
