Two arrests and three stolen cars recovered, South Australia

Two people were arrested and three stolen vehicles recovered by police in the northern suburbs last night.

About 8.30pm on Friday 12 July, Northern District Police spotted a stolen white Commodore sedan at Paralowie and discreetly followed it. It drove to the rear carpark of a hotel on Port Wakefield Road, Bolivar and parked next to another stolen car, a Mitsubishi SUV.

The female driver was seen to go into a hotel room.

The owner of the Holden Colorado was contacted and attended the hotel, where he was able to identify a large amount of property in the room as work tools stolen from his ute.

Further investigations led police to a nearby caravan park where they located the stolen Colorado. The victim was thrilled to have his work tools and ute recovered.

All three stolen vehicle were seized for forensic examination today before they can be returned to their owners.

A 33-year-old Newton woman was arrested and charged with illegal use and theft by receiving and a 40-year-old Parafield Gardens man was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle and breach of bail. They were both refused bail and are expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
