Two Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang members arrested

Tasmania Police in collaboration with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) National Anti-Gang Squad (NAGS) have made further arrests in relation to an operation targeting the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) members and associates in the greater Hobart area.

A 51 year old male and 21 year old male who are members of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang were arrested this morning at a property in Derwent Park, in relation to the seizure of more than 700 grams of methylamphetamine by Tasmania Police from the Spirit of Tasmania in late December 2019.

Both men are charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.

The males have been charged and bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 10 August 2020.

These arrests follow on from the large-scale police operation conducted at Dover last Wednesday. Five people have now been charged in connection with this investigation.

Detective A/Inspector Nikala Parsons of the Serious Organised Crime Division said, “This operation has significantly disrupted the criminal activities of those linked to OMCGs in Tasmania.

“We are continuing to work closely with our partners at the AFP NAGS to target criminal gang activities.”
