Two charged after man critically injured, NSW

Two men have been charged after allegedly assaulting a man who remains in a critical condition in hospital.

About 12.30pm today (Saturday 29 December 2018), emergency services were called to the intersection of Grosvenor Crescent and Liverpool Road, Summer Hill, where they located an injured 66-year-old man on the side of the road.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command attended and arrested two men – aged 21 and 24 – nearby.

The men, both Irish nationals, were taken to Burwood Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm in company and affray.

The pair were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 29 December 2018).

They were not known to the injured man.
