Two charged, stolen goods seized at Queanbeyan, NSW

Two men have been charged with 25 property offences following an investigation into stolen goods in Queanbeyan.

In May 2019 an investigation was commenced by officers from Monaro Police District into a number of break and enter offences in the Queanbeyan area.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 34-year-old man at a Queanbeyan home and an 18-year-old man at a Jerrabomberra home on Tuesday afternoon (16 July 2019).

About 3.55pm on Tuesday (16 July 2019) a 34-year-old Queanbeyan man was charged with offences relating to break and enter (x5), fraud, malicious damage (x4), stealing (x3) and enter vehicle without consent. The man was also charged in relation to two outstanding arrest warrants.

He was bail refused and is due to appear before Queanbeyan Local Court on 22 July 2019.

About 5.30pm an 18-year-old Jerrabomberra man was charged with break and enter (x3), malicious damage (x4), stealing (x3) and enter vehicle without consent.

He was placed on strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Queanbeyan Local Court on 12 August 2019.

Following the arrest of the two men, police executed a search warrant at a Queanbeyan address shortly after 4.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 17 July 2019).

Police seized high end bicycles, a motorbike, power tools, electrical goods including mobile phones, computers and car stereos, hand tools and other property.

Police are in the process of locating the owners of the seized property and are encouraging anyone who may have had property stolen to contact the Crime Prevention Unit at Queanbeyan Police Station and quote reference E72008259.
