Two charged with drug supply offences in the Riverina – Strike Force Gride

Two men have been charged with drug offences in the state’s south.

In November 2023, Strike Force Gride was established to investigate the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs in Wagga Wagga.

About 8am yesterday (Wednesday 8 May 2024), officers attached to Regional Enforcement Squad, with assistance from Southern Operation Support group and Riverina Police District, executed a search warrant at a home on William Street, North Wagga Wagga.

During the search, police located and seized drugs believed to be suboxone and methamphetamine, allegedly stolen number plates, a chainsaw and mobile phone.

Two people at the property at the time were questioned and released.

About 9.45am yesterday (Wednesday 8 May 2024), officers attached to Regional Enforcement Squad, with assistance from Riverina Police District executed a second search warrant at a home in Lloyd Rd, Springvale.

During the search, police located and seized jewellery alleged to be the proceeds of crime and a mobile phone.

A short time later, officers attended a business in Copland Street, East Wagga and arrested two men, aged 18 and 20 and they were taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

Both men were refused bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Thursday 9 May 2024).

Investigations are ongoing.
