Two dead, one arrested after two-vehicle crash in Peakhurst

Two women have died after a two-vehicle crash in Sydney’s south west this evening.

Shortly before 8pm (Tuesday 12 March 2019), emergency services were called to Henry Lawson Drive, Peakhurst, after reports of a two-vehicle crash.

The female driver of a Honda sedan, a 66-year-old woman, and her female passenger, a 62-year-old woman, have died at the scene.

The remaining passengers, a 62-year-old woman, and a 58-year-old man, were taken to St George Hospital for treatment where they remain in a stable condition.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Officers from Crash Investigation Unit are currently on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

About 8.30pm, a 20-year-old man, the driver and sole occupant of a Toyota Landcruiser, believed to be stolen, was arrested nearby on Park Street.

He was taken to St George Hospital for treatment. He has since been released and was taken to St George Police Station to undergo a breath analysis.

West bound lanes are currently closed on Henry Lawson Drive. One east bound lane is open on Henry Lawson Drive.
