Two further people have been charged following extensive investigations into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney’s south.
In August this year, Strike Force Igera was established by the South Sydney Police Area Command’s Drug Unit to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine (ice) and gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) across Sydney’s south and metropolitan areas.
So far during investigations, five men have been charged with drug-related offences. They all remain before the courts
Following further investigations, a 34-year-old woman was arrested at a unit complex on Burwood Road, Burwood, on Tuesday (21 December 2021).
She was taken to Burwood Police Station and charged with drug supply (commercial quantity).
The woman appeared at Burwood Local Court the following day, where she was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 2 March 2022.
Yesterday (Friday 24 December 2021), a 41-year-old man attended Redfern Police Station where he was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station.
He was charged with drug supply (commercial quantity) and breach of bail.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 25 December 2021).
Since inception, Strike Force Igera detectives have seized in excess of 21L of GBL, 10g of methylamphetamine (ice) and heroin, and $25,000 cash.
Investigations under Strike Force Igera continue.
