Two in court over stabbing in Bexley

Two people will face court today charged after a man was allegedly stabbed in Sydney’s south.

About 1.20pm yesterday (Saturday 9 May 2020), emergency services were called to Queen Victoria Street, Bexley, following reports of a brawl.

On arrival, officers from St George Police Area Command found a 37-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his torso.

He was taken to St George Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 27-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Kogarah Police Station.

The Merrylands man was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Menai woman was charged with conceal serious indictable offence of other, and breach of bail.

Both were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 10 May 2020).

Investigations are continuing.
