Two major projects progress in Robinvale

Two major Robinvale projects have just taken a step forward.

Swan Hill Rural City Council has opened tenders for contractors to complete the Robinvale levee bank upgrade and associated drainage works.

Landscaping and irrigation work along Bromley Road is also out for public tender.

Council’s Director Infrastructure Svetla Petkova said there were a few elements to the Robinvale levee bank project.

“The Robinvale levee bank project includes upgrade and reconstruction of the current levee bank, construction of a new section of levee, and the development of a dry wetland,” Ms Petkova said.

“This work will provide flood protection to the township and potentially allow some land rezoning to promote development of housing.

“Work is expected to start in late June and will take about five months to complete,” she said.

Ms Petkova said the second stage of the Bromley Road beautification project, focusing on the landscaping, was also expected to start in late June or early July and take about two months to complete.

She said landscaping and irrigation work was expected to be complete by the end of August.

“Road work at the entry point of Robinvale along Bromley Road was completed late last year,” she said.

Ms Petkova said Council was now working with VicRoads to enable road sealing and line marking along Bromley Road. This component is expected to be completed during October or early November, weather permitting.
