Two men arrested in stolen car at Modbury, South Australia

Two men were arrested after being spotted in a stolen car at Modbury this morning.

Just before 10am on Thursday 15 November, a State Tactical Response Group patrol, in an unmarked police car, saw a silver Ford Falcon sedan pull into a service station on North East Road, Modbury. Police checks revealed the car had been reported stolen from Hillbank last night.

The patrol approached the vehicle and arrested one of the occupants at the service station. The second suspect fled on foot and was apprehended a short distance away in a creek near McIntyre Road.

Further investigation showed the stolen car had been used in a petrol drive-off on Grand Junction Road, Hope Valley earlier today.

A 21-year-old Brahma Lodge man and a 39-year-old Valley View man were both arrested and charged with illegal use, make off without payment, resist police and drive unlicensed. The Brahma Lodge man was refused bail and the Valley View man was granted bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
