On Friday 21 August, Queensland Government Air (QGAir) Rescue 500 was tasked with two separate search and rescues in Tallebudgera Valley.
At Mount Cougal, a 19-year-old woman and 22-year-old woman were rescued by the QGAir crew after they became stranded while hiking in the area on Thursday, 20 August.
The hikers contacted emergency services around 6.40pm and a rescue helicopter was deployed to the location around 8.40pm but was unable to safely extricate the women due to conditions at the time.
The women were not in immediate danger and were advised to remain at their location overnight until a safe rescue could be conducted.
At around 5.45am the following day the QGAir crew returned to the area and both women were safely extricated.
The pair were medically assessed by paramedics, with no injuries reported.
At Bally Mountain, a 19-year-old woman and 20-year-old man were rescued by QGAir crew after they became stranded with injuries while hiking in the area on Friday, 21 August.
At around 4.20pm, the QGAir crew were tasked with rescuing the hikers. The hikers were located and were safely extricated.
Minor injuries were sustained prior to their rescue, and they were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
