Two shotguns, cocaine seized in proactive operation targeting criminal networks, NSW

Raptor Squad officers have seized two shotguns and cocaine as a part of ongoing proactive operations to disrupt criminal syndicates.

Acting on information, detectives from State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad executed a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) search at a home on Robillard Street at Mays Hill about 11.30pm last night (Thursday 21 October 2021).

During the search of the home, police located and seized two shotguns and ammunition which will undergo forensic and ballistic examination.

About 25 grams of cocaine and steroids were also seized by officers and will be subject to further forensic examination.

A 29-year-old man was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station, where he was charged with eight offences, including;

• possess unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm (x2),

• supply prohibited drug above indictable amount,

• possess ammunition without holding licence or permit or authority,

• possess unauthorised prohibited firearm (x2), and,

• not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm (x2).

Police will allege in court the man is high-ranking member of an organised criminal network.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Hornsby Local Court today (Friday 22 October 2021).

More proactive operations and investigations targeting criminal networks are expected.
