Two teenage boys have been charged after a public place shooting and pursuit in Sydney’s south west.
About 2am today (Tuesday 11 August 2026), officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command were called to a home on Sapphire Place, Eagle Vale, after reports of shots fired.
Shortly after, responding police observed and attempted to stop an allegedly stolen white hatchback travelling on Eagle Vale Road.
When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
A short time later, the vehicle crashed into a tree on Thunderbolt Drive, where three occupants ran from the vehicle.
Police commenced a search of the area, with the assistance of PolAir, Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Dog Squad.
A short time later, officers located and arrested two boys, aged 15 and 17, on Thunderbolt Drive and nearby on Dakota Place, Raby.
They were taken to Campbelltown Police Station.
During a search of the allegedly stolen vehicle, officers located and seized a firearm which will undergo forensic examination.
Crime scenes were established, and police commenced an investigation into the incidents.
Both teenage boys were charged with fire firearm at dwelling-house disregard for safety, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
They were both refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court tomorrow (Wednesday 12 August 2026).
