Two teenagers charged following alleged attempted arsons – Hunters Hill

Two teenagers will appear in court today charged following an investigation into multiple alleged attempted arsons in Sydney’s northwest.

About 3.20am on Sunday 21 June 2026, police were called to a home on Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill, after reports of trespassing.

Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command attended and were told a resident had seen an unknown person walking around a nearby vacant property before leaving the scene.

When police searched the property, they found a small fire near the front door.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

Shortly before 10pm on Monday 29 June 2026, officers responded to reports that a vehicle had been doused in an accelerant on Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill.

Officers established a crime scene and Fire and Rescue NSW rendered the scene safe.

A secondary crime scene was established in Brown Street after two empty fuel cans were located.

There were no reports of any person being injured.

About 10.50am on Sunday 5 July 2026, police were called to a home on Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill, after reports of attempted trespassing.

Officers attended and were told an unknown person had been sighted walking around a nearby property before leaving the scene.

About 11.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 15 July 2026), police were called to Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill, following a report of a trespassing.

Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 17, were arrested nearby.

They were taken to Gladesville Police Station where they were both charged with enter enclosed lands with intent to commit indictable offence and attempted destroy or damage property by fire or explosive whilst in company.

The pair were refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Thursday 16 July 2026).
