Two teenage boys have been charged with a combined 157 offences following investigations into alleged aggravated break and enters in the state’s north coast.
In March 2026, officers attached to the Mid North Coast Police District’s Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation into a string of alleged violent property crime in suburbs including – Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Toormina, Coffs Harbour, Hat Head, Frederickton, Crescent Head, South West Rocks and Armidale – between November 2024 and December 2025
Police will allege a total of 39 vehicles were stolen throughout the incidents.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested two boys, aged 16 and 17, at Grafton Police Station today (Wednesday 23 September 2026).
The younger boy was charged with 109 offences including,
– Aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than equal to $60000,
– Aggravated enter dwelling with intent -in company-steal,
– Agg break and enter & commit serious indictable offence-people there,
– Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity,
– Commit s 112(2) offence & disseminate,
– Commit s 154A offence & disseminate,
– Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and
– Steal motor vehicle.
The older boy was charged with 48 offences including,
– Aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than equal to $60000,
– Commit s 154A offence & disseminate,
– Commit s 113(2) offence & disseminate,
– Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner,
– Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity,
– Steal motor vehicle, and
– Take & drive conveyance w/o consent of owner.
Both boys were refused bail and appeared before a children’s court today (Wednesday 23 September 2026), where they were formally refused to reappear on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
Investigations continue under Operation Soteria.
