UK calls for Aussie creatives

The search is on to find Australian arts organisations and individuals to represent us at the UK | Australia Season 2021-22.

The Season is an exciting joint initiative by the British Council and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to celebrate and strengthen creative ties between the two countries.

This year’s theme is ‘Who are we now?’ and it is the first time there will be a reciprocal season.

Applications from Australian arts organisations and individual artists working across all art forms, including Indigenous arts, are welcome.

Project proposals do not have to be limited to touring works. For example, projects can include residencies, a festival focus, symposia, workshops, site specific work, digital work, exhibitions and broadcast.

To help fund participation, applicants can also apply for small grant support through the UK/Australian Season Grant (available to organisations only) and DFAT’s Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program (available to both organisations and individuals). Applicants do not need to apply for a grant to submit a proposal to participate in the program.

The Australian program will take place in the UK from August to November 2021, and the UK program in Australia from September 2021 to March 2022.
