Unidentified pedestrian hit by car in Truganina

Westgate Highway Patrol officers continue to investigate a collision in Truganina that left a woman in a critical condition.

A woman was crossing Leakes Road when she was hit by a white sedan about 4.35am.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The female driver was not injured, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators believe a number of cars drove past the scene at the time and are keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage.

The injured woman remains in hospital and is yet to be identified at this stage.

She is described as African in appearance with a small build, approximately 166cm tall with a scar on her forehead and burn scars on her right leg.

She was wearing a black puffer jacket, pink platform sneakers and dark-coloured pants.

Investigators have released an image of a notebook belonging to the woman in the hope someone may recognise it.
