Council recently award upcoming work between Cape Hawke Drive and Tahiti Avenue on The Lakes Way, Forster to Ditchfield Contracting.
It will include the rehabilitation and reconstruction of about 550 metres of The Lakes Way. New stormwater, subsurface drainage, kerb and guttering, pavements will also be installed.
The project is expected to begin at the end of October and will ultimately improve safety, functionality and efficiency for road users.
The works will be staged to minimise disruption to motorists.
Stage one will see the new stormwater, sub soil drainage, kerb and guttering and pavement is constructed and is planned for completion around mid December.
Work will then be paused over the Christmas and New Years period before work gets back underway in the new year to avoid traffic impacts during the peak holiday period.
