Update 1: Firearm incident in Cairns, QLD

Police have charged a Manunda man following investigations into an incident involving an alleged firearm in White Rock last week.

Around 7.30pm on January 22, police were called to a disturbance at a Yangoora Street house where a man had sustained a wound to his leg.

It will be alleged a shot was discharged which injured a man’s leg during the argument.

A 40-year-old White Rock man was taken to the Cairns Hospital in a stable condition with a single gunshot wound to the right thigh.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of weapons and possessing dangerous drugs. He appeared in Cairns Magistrates Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody to re-appear on April 10.
