Update: Armed robberies, Nambour and Caloundra

Detectives yesterday charged a man following information been supplied to Crime Stoppers after two Sunshine Coast chemists were robbed in early January. Police released vision of a man on January 10 seeking public assistance to help locate a man following an armed robbery in Nambour.

It will be alleged a man entered a pharmacy on Mill Street at 10.25am on January 9 and produced a knife making demands to staff for medication.

When they complied, the man fled the scene without further incident.

It will be further alleged the same man had attended a Rawson Street at Caloundra chemist on January 4. Around 9.30am a man threatened a female staff member with a knife demanding medication. The staff member complied and the man left.

After information was supplied to Crime Stoppers by a member of the public, police attended a house in Bells Reach Drive at 4pm on February 1 and arrested a man.

A 56-year-old Caloundra West man has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and will appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 13.
