UPDATE COVID-19 Direction 2020 – Stay at Home No 3, South Australia

An update has been made to the Stay at Home Direction restrictions in South Australia.

The Emergency Management (Stay at Home No 2) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Stay at Home No 3) (COVID-19) Direction 2020. This new Direction comes into effect as of 11.30am Friday 20 November 2020.

It is important to note that the following information only highlights the amendments and does not reflect all of the requirements under the Stay at Home Direction No 3. ESSENTIAL WORKERS

A person may leave the home for the purpose of undertaking duties as an essential worker which are classified as those people who perform work which is essential for the continued operation.

The following operations/businesses have been added to the Essential Worker categories:

  • Indoor or outdoor market, but only operations related to the provision of groceries or fresh food and not operations related to the provision of food or beverages prepared on site (whether for consumption on site or takeaway); and
  • A newsagent.

REASONS TO LEAVE HOMEThe following reasons have been added as reasons to leave home:

  • To obtain essential goods or services from an indoor or outdoor market for groceries or fresh food only and/or a newsagent; and
  • For exercise with people who reside at their home for a maximum of two hours per day.

Essential Health Services and testing requirements of commercial transport and freight operators have not been updated. Details can be found in the Direction in relation to this.
