Updated Cross Border Travel Associated Direction 29 September, South Australia

The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 54) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 55) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction came into effect at 5:32pm on Wednesday, 29 September 2021.

Key changes include:

Any person arriving in South Australia who in the 14 days prior to their arrival (but not before 17 September 2021) has been in the City of Brisbane, City of Gold Coast, Moreton Bay Regional Council and Logan City Local Government Areas is subject to Level 3 requirements and must:

  • Have a COVID-19 test on day 1, 5, & 13.
  • Self-quarantine until negative test.
  • Not enter a high risk setting for 14 days after arrival in SA unless permitted to enter in accordance with clause 9 of Cross Border Travel – General COVID-19 Direction 2021.
  • Not attend a COVID Management Plan event with more than 1000 people for a period of 14 days after arrival in South Australia.

Any person arriving from Queensland (other than the City of Brisbane, City of Gold Coast, Moreton Bay Regional Council and Logan City Local Government Areas) is permitted to enter South Australia without restrictions as long as they have not been in a restricted zone in the past 14 days. In this case, they would be subject to that zone’s restrictions.

Other existing requirements remain.
