Upgrade to Hat Head boat ramp area and car park complete

A new carpark and safer pedestrian access are the results of a newly completed upgrade at Hat Head.

The project has involved the construction of new parking bays for cars and trailers, footpaths for safer pedestrian access, kerb and gutter and upgraded access to and from the boat ramp area.

Kempsey Shire Council’s Manager Infrastructure Delivery, Dale Smith, said the completed upgrade was perfect timing for the busy holiday period.

“The carpark area was previously a sandy, unsealed area with no marked parking bays. The new carpark has been widened, sealed and line marked with larger parking bays for cars and boat trailers,” Mr Smith said.

“The addition of new kerb and gutter and footpaths also make it safer and more accessible for pedestrians heading to and from the beach.”

The project has been fully funded under the NSW Government’s 2018/19 NSW Boating Now Program.
