Upgrades to surgical suites at Clare Hospital

The Clare community will benefit from new and improved healthcare services as part of a major upgrade of surgical services at the Clare Hospital.

The $4.8 million redevelopment will develop a new Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and upgrades to the surgical theatre suite to provide modern facilities and improve patient experience.

The CSSD will ensure the sterilising process for medical and surgical instruments continues to be of the highest standard into the future and will improve the capacity of the facilities to handle a higher volume of local procedures.

New sterilising equipment will be purchased and installed in the current CSSD, then incorporated into the new facility once the building works are complete.

Construction of the redevelopment is expected to begin in August for practical completion by the beginning of next year.

These upgrades to Clare Hospital will improve facilities and care to the community, providing a direct benefit to patients.

This will mean patients can access and receive high-quality hospital care with modern facilities close to home, rather than having to travel to Adelaide, helping to reduce pressure on metropolitan facilities and providing more capacity closer to home.

We welcome the redevelopments at Clare Hospital and look forward to improved facilities for our community.

Improving and upgrading facilities at the hospital will ensure the best healthcare is provided to our community and the new sterile facility will support best practice for instrument sterilisation well into the future.
