USAFL Partnership Extended

Jeremy Rockliff, Premier

The Tasmanian Government is delighted announce the continuation of our sponsorship agreement with the USAFL, which has been extended for a further three years until the conclusion of the 2026 season.

This strategic alliance has proven mutually beneficial over the past two years, with concerted efforts made by both parties to elevate the recognition of the league and Tasmanian businesses within the US market.

The recent attainment of an AFL club license by Tasmania creates new avenues for market expansion in the US. This is further bolstered by the introduction of the Tasmanian Devils as the club name, and the commencement of a foundation membership drive, marking an exciting time in the collaborative relationship.

Tasmanian Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the State’s passion for Australian Rules Football runs deep, and the Tasmanian Government was proud to partner with the USAFL over the next three years.

“This commitment comes at a perfect time, as momentum builds around the debut of our Tasmanian Devils football team into the AFL for the 2028 season,” Premier Rockliff said.

“It will also create valuable opportunities for Tasmanian businesses to connect with the US market, which is currently Tasmania’s third most valuable goods export market and an important tourism market for Tasmania.

“The Tasmanian Government is delivering key investments to help keep our economy strong and create jobs in Tasmania.”

USAFL Executive Director, Doren James said our partnership continues to thrive, culminating in unprecedented growth for the USAFL last year, including record participation rates.

“The support of Tasmania is instrumental as we strive to build on this momentum with the implementation of a fresh marketing strategy this year.”

The USAFL is committed to enhancing the visibility of Tasmania, showcasing it as a unique location, a reputable brand, a provider of high-caliber products, and an appealing tourist destination.
