Police are at the scene of a serious crash at Pelican Lagoon on Kangaroo Island.
A passing motorist came across a single vehicle crash on Hog Bay Road, Pelican Lagoon about 4.15am on Thursday 18 April. The ute had left the road and hit a tree.
The driver, who was the only occupant of the ute, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the mainland for treatment.
Hog Bay Road has just reopened to all traffic.
Emergency services will remain at the scene for a short time until the ute is towed and the road is clear.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
