UUMV And Property Offences in Wavell Heights, QLD

Police are investigating a series of break-ins and vehicle thefts in Wavell Heights overnight between July 21 and 22.

Detectives are investigating a number of offences allegedly committed by a group of offenders in the area.

Police received reports of vehicles being unlawfully entered on Rilatt Street and Hoey Street, with property stolen during some of the incidents.

A residence on Bayview Terrace was also targeted, however entry to the home was not gained.

Around 2.10am, three people attempted to enter a residence on Stadcor Street. Entry was not gained.

Police will allege a residence on Varcoe Street was entered during the early hours of the morning, with a green Volkswagen T-Cross stolen.

Around 5.20am, a residence on Highlands Street was entered and three vehicles were stolen, including a 2023 grey Hyundai Tucson, a 2018 grey Hyundai Tucson and a white Toyota RAV4.

The 2023 grey Hyundai Tucson was later located abandoned on Bruce Street in Chermside, around 5.50am.

The stolen vehicles were subsequently sighted travelling in the Chermside area.

The white Toyota RAV4 was later located on Calhoun Street, McDowall, around 7.30am.

Detectives from the Hendra Criminal Investigation Branch Property Team are investigating the linked incidents and are appealing for anyone who may have relevant CCTV or other vision, or information about the incidents or the whereabouts of the outstanding stolen vehicles, to come forward.
