Vibrant Port Stephens: Funding Available for Community Projects

Port Stephen

Port Stephens residents and community groups can now apply for funding through Council’s Community Funding Program.

The program is designed to empower individuals, artists, creatives, not-for-profits, businesses, and students to bring their visions to life, and aims to foster vibrant neighbourhoods, a thriving lifestyle, and a strong sense of community well-being.

With over $300,000 available throughout the 2024-2025 financial year, the program supports initiatives across social, cultural, environmental, and economic spheres.

September marks the opening of Round 1 for several funding streams, including the Vibrant Spaces Fund, the Environmental Projects Fund, the Aboriginal Projects Fund, and the Community Support Fund.

The Community Funding Program has already made a significant impact on Port Stephens. Examples of projects funded through this program include: Karuah Timber and Oyster Festival and the Human Whale events, the creation of a heritage trail in Tanilba Bay, art installations in the Tomaree library and Riverside Park in Raymond Terrace as well as support for local youth mental health services.

These projects showcase the diverse range of initiatives that can be funded through this program, with a focus on supporting as many grassroots local projects as possible that genuinely benefit people across Port Stephens.

Interested applicants are encouraged to explore the program details and access the online application form at pscouncil.info/community-funding.
