Following forensic testing, a 70-year-old woman has been formally identified following the location of a body in Quambatook on Tuesday, 21 January.
The body of Merril Kelly, from Quambatook, was discovered after emergency services initially responded to a report of a grass fire near Cemetery Road and Knight Road about 6.30am.
A 67-year-old Quambatook man was charged by the Homicide Squad with murder on Wednesday, 22 January.
He was remanded to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on 30 April.
