Casey Crime Investigation Unit are investigating an aggravated burglary in Cranbourne last night (1 September).
Detectives understand the victim was in his Cochrane Street home around 11.20pm when he heard an intruder gain entry.
The victim confronted the offending male with a bat, scaring the offender off.
The victim was not injured during the incident and the offender left empty-handed.
