Victorian geoscience in focus at IMARC Online

The Geological Survey of Victoria (GSV) will headline the Victorian Government Hour at IMARC Online on Tuesday 24 November, starting at midday.

The session will connect international industry investors and explorers to the most up to date data and knowledge of Victoria’s undiscovered gold and exploration potential.

Victoria’s resources sector is booming. Gold is being produced at a level not seen in over 100 years and minerals exploration has reached record levels over the last four years.

Online networking and information sharing are increasingly important to keep this momentum going.

Senior Geologist Ross Cayley will kick-off the hour with a presentation outlining the big picture geological framework and timing for gold in Victoria.

This will be followed by a demonstration of key ingredients for a world-class gold district by Senior Economic Geologist Rob Duncan using some of the better and lesser-known examples from Victoria.

Senior Geophysicist Phil Skladzien will close out this part of the session with an in-depth discussion about mapping mineralised structures under cover and the role of pre-competitive geophysical data.
