Yarra City Council is celebrating Victorian Seniors Festival with an exciting program of free and low-cost activities throughout October.
Now in its 41st year, the Victorian Seniors Festival attracts seniors across the State to get active, try something new and sample what’s on offer in their local area.
There are over 30 events in Yarra designed to bring seniors together to enjoy themselves, learn new skills and make friends, including:
- U3A Guided Cycling Tour of Yarra – Explore the scenic beauty and heritage of Yarra.

- Art Lab Intergenerational Scrapbooking – Document your memories with the young people in your life.
Thursday 26 October

- Are You Financially Read to Retire? Talk – Gain insights in preparation for retirement.

And much more! From arts and crafts workshops to talks and performances – there’s something for everyone across our neighbourhood houses, community centres and libraries.
Victorian Seniors Card holders can also access eight days of free public transport across Victoria from 1 to 8 October 2023.
Guided by our Active and Healthy Ageing Strategy, Yarra City Council is committed to ensuring that people of all ages in our community can live well. Living well means feeling included, being active and able to connect with other people and participating in everyday life.
To support this Strategy, Yarra Council has a wide range of support services, social groups and activities for seniors throughout the year.
