Hobsons Bay City Council is one of 14 councils who have partnered with Garage Sale Trail for 2020.

The Garage Sale Trail is dedicated to helping Hobsons Bay residents and others across Australia, make or save money by buying or selling second-hand items through virtual or at-home garage sales, no matter what restrictions are in place! This year’s Garage Sale Trail has been labelled the recovery edition.

Registrations are now open for this year’s free Garage Sale Trail event being held at home or online on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November. The Garage Sale Trail event is free to take part in and participants will be provided with all the tips, support and promotional materials they need to sell big and stay safe on the Trail.

There are also some new masterclasses available to join at no cost that will teach you the art of second-hand styling with Hannah Klose, Natalie Shehata & Jenelle Witty. Not only can you learn to look stylish while being sustainable, you will also be helping to divert valuable resources from landfill while making or saving some money in the process.

In 2019 alone, over 400,000 Australians got involved at 18,000 garage sales country wide. Garage Sale Trails and its participants were able to divert over 3.2 million kgs of unwanted items from landfill, proving that when we all work together big things happen.
