Brisbane will host the Virtus Oceania Asia Games from 5 to 11 November 2022. The event is the first regional Virtus event ever held in Australia. The OAGames amplifies inclusion through sport and is a world-class event for elite athletes with an intellectual impairment.

During the competition, you can witness the best of the Oceania Asia region compete for gold in:

  • athletics
  • basketball
  • cycling
  • judo
  • rowing
  • sailing
  • swimming
  • table tennis
  • taekwondo
  • triathlon.

The prestigious medals made by the Royal Australian Mint were unveiled to the public in Brisbane on 21 October. CEO of the Royal Australian Mint, Mr Leigh Gordon, describes the medals:

“One side represents the legacy of the gum leaf design from the Global Games 2019 medal and the other side represents the Brisbane River… where both these Games have connection to and the place where future athletes will come back to.”

Sports Inclusion Australia, the organiser for the event, hope to bring about greater opportunities for intellectually impaired athletes to compete at the elite level. The OAGames 2022 is your opportunity to see current and future Paralympians in action!

The Australian Government is proud to support the Virtus Oceania Asia Games 2022 event and contribute to the social inclusion of athletes with disability.
