Visiting our hospitals? Times have changed

NSW Gov

From Tuesday 3rd October, visiting hours for hospitals across the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District will be changed to 10am to 8pm.

This includes Nepean Hospital, Blue Mountains Hospital, Lithgow Hospital and Springwood Hospital. Patients will continue to be allowed up to 4 visitors per day.

Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Nepean Hospital, Diane Burton said the change in visiting hours will have a positive effect on patients and the community.

“Families, friends and loved ones are so important in everyone’s lives. Our new visiting hours is one way we can help our patients stay connected with those closest to them during a hospital admission,” says Diane.

Visiting hours in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) will also change to 10am to 8pm. Staff will continue to talk directly to families and loved ones in the ICU about specific arrangements, including virtual visits and in-person visits for patients.

Visiting hours and the number of visitors may vary for some wards and services.
