Stroke Foundation

Stroke impacts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities significantly.

For First Nations peoples, strokes occur earlier in life, more often, and result in worse outcomes. This is the Stroke Gap between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. Stroke Foundation is working hard with First nations peoples to build on their existing strengths and support them to close this gap through our prevention, treatment, recovery, and research programs, and warrants urgent action.

Stroke Foundation remains committed to standing with our First Nations brothers and sisters in changing this disparity and we stand with you today in what is a challenging time.

We will continue to work closely with First Nations people, governments and communities to treat and beat stroke in Australia.
