Vote 1 Maitland-Rutherford Girl Guides

Girl Guides have a long history of helping others in their communities and speaking out on issues for those whose voice may not be heard. Now it’s the Maitland Community’s chance to return the favour.

Maitland-Rutherford Girl Guides have a project entry in the NSW Government’s My Community Projects Scheme. My Community Project funds projects in each NSW electorate to help improve the wellbeing of people and communities. Successful projects will be determined through a public vote and the projects that receive the most support will receive funding.

The Maitland-Rutherford Girl Guide Hall is in need of repair. The 60-year-old brick piers have been determined to be not compliant in terms of work, health and safety. The piers and ant caps need replacing and the building requires levelling. Safety of the Guides and their Leaders, volunteers, hall hirers and the general public is of paramount importance. Benefits include improved safety and improved structural integrity of the building for all using it.

If successful in the My Community Project voting, Maitland-Rutherford Girl Guides District Manager Jill Norburn said “re-peiring and levelling the Guide Hall would create a safer place for the Girl Guides, their Leaders and the local community to enjoy the amenities provided at our Hall.”

To vote for Maitland-Rutherford Girl Guides go to bit.ly/VoteMaitland and give this project the funding it needs. You’re eligible to vote once for projects within your electorate. You’ll need a MyServiceNSW Account and your Medicare card to shortlist projects, and you may vote for your top 3–5 projects.
