WA’s largest free carols celebration receives Lotterywest support

  • Lotterywest $283,000 grant for WASO’s 2021 Lotterywest Christmas Spectacular
  • More than 20,000 people expected to attend this free community event
  • The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) Lotterywest Christmas Spectacular returns to RAC Arena on Saturday, December 11, 2021. The Spectacular is a free ticketed event with two performances at 2pm and 7pm.

The McGowan Government, through Lotterywest, is proud to continue to support community events that help build a better Western Australia together. The Lotterywest grant, alongside support from the City of Perth, means that more than 20,000 Western Australians can experience their State orchestra, local artists and the WASO Chorus in a spectacular event for free.

The 2021 WA Arts and Culture Monitor Survey found 87 per cent of people said arts makes them feel good and 77 per cent said arts is valuable, contributing to WA’s sense of community. The 2021 Lotterywest Christmas Spectacular will provide jobs for more than 160 local performers and support people, and the connection of over 100 volunteers.

The funding for WASO’s Lotterywest Christmas Spectacular is only possible thanks to retailers and players who support Lotterywest products. As the only government-owned lottery in Australia, Western Australians are incredibly fortunate that Lotterywest proceeds are distributed directly back into the WA community.

Lotterywest also provides vital funding for public hospitals, sports and thousands of community groups across the State.
