A man wanted on an outstanding warrant has been charged over historic sexual offences in Sydney’s west.
On Monday (17 August 2026), officers attached to Police Transport Command commenced inquiries into alleged sexual offence onboard a train in 2023 under Operation Savete, which targets alleged sexual offenders on public transport.
A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.
About 6.20pm on Saturday (22 August 2026), officers attached to North West HVP Unit were alerted to a man allegedly armed with an axe in the vicinity of Apia Place, Lethbridge Park.
Police located a 26-year-old man nearby, who allegedly resisted arrest, before an axe was allegedly located on him and seized.
The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty and have custody of an offensive implement in a public place.
The warrant was also executed, and the man was charged with sexually touch another person without consent, incite other to do sexual act with them without consent, and carry out sexual act with another without consent.
The man was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday 26 August 2026.
