The Department of Transport has informed Council that works will need to be undertaken on the Old Warburton Road in March 2023 with an extended full closure of the Warburton Highway anticipated to start in late April 2023.
The Warburton Highway between Mayer Bridge and Hooks Road still has one lane closed with traffic control measures in place following heavy rains which caused a landslip in October 2022.
Part of the preparation for these works involves diverting drainage away from the landslip site on the Lilydale/Warburton Rail Trail. While these works take place, traffic controllers will assist trail users through the works.
