Watermain renewal project at Lake Conjola near completion

Shoalhaven City Council has completed installation of a replacement watermain on Lake Conjola Entrance Road, with the main now operational.

As part of Council’s watermain upgrade program, two kilometres of new 450mm diameter pipes have been installed within the Lake Conjola Entrance Road corridor from the Holiday Haven Tourist Park to west of the Bowling Club.

The nature of the works, including open trenching of the road, have impacted the road surface and the next stage of works is to repair that section of the road impacted by the watermain installation.

Remediation works, which is the final component of the watermain project, will provide repairs to the road surface over the extent of the construction impacted area.

The restoration is expected to be completed in early February 2021, weather permitting.

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley said “The project to renew a watermain on Lake Conjola Entrance Road will ensure there is a reliable water supply to the area, with the old main experiencing a number of breaks in recent times”.

“Council appreciates the community’s understanding and patience with road conditions and traffic delays during the works period”, Clr Findley said.
