Midland Detectives are seeking information regarding a serious assault incident which occurred at a cultural festival held in Wattle Grove on Saturday 21 October 2023.
About 8:30pm, two groups of people attending the Diwali Mela festival at the Abruzzo Molise Sporting Club became involved in an altercation. The incident occurred between the clubhouse and the playground.
During the altercation, a 22-year-old man was struck to the head with a metal object, believed to be a pole. The man received a serious head injury and was taken by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital.
Detectives would like to speak to anyone with information regarding the assault incident, or who has information regarding the people involved.
