We’re spending $12.9 million on waste

Making sure waste management is secured for the foreseeable future has received a boost in the annual budget.

Kempsey Shire Council has budgeted $12.9 million for works to improve our waste management and education in the next year including:

  • Developing the Waste Management Centre Master Plan including the construction of a new landfill cell
  • Creating and rolling out community waste programs to help reduce waste going into landfill and encourage a circular economy
  • Continuing to provide waste management facilities including the Mobile Community Recycling Centre to residents.
