We’re training to better help our community on Friday 22 September

Kempsey Shire Council

Training is a vital part of ensuring our team is best placed to better serve our community. The friendly faces of our customer service and library teams will be missed on Friday 22 September as they venture offsite to attend their annual staff development and training day.

What will we do without them?

Don’t panic! We have a plan.

Our commitment to our community means our team have worked hard on a plan to minimise disruption to our services.

Service Centre – Customers will not be able to visit the Kempsey Shire Council Customer service centre on Friday 22 September we will be closed for the day.

Phone Calls – Phone calls will be taken by our afterhours service. Non urgent calls will be sent through as an email to be addressed on the Monday. Urgent calls will be directed to the relevant after hours contact for action.

Emails – Incoming emails will be managed/distributed as per the usual process. Any urgent requests will be sent to the appropriate officer for action, and any business-as-usual requests will be logged on Monday 25 September by Customer Service Team.

Libraries – Kempsey Library will be closed (South West Rocks and Stuarts Point libraries are not open on Fridays). Calls will divert to a voicemail advising of the closure, we have signage in place, are letting our customers know in person and are communicating with any directly impacted customers.

We ask that you please assist with coming into council prior to our planned closure date for anything you need from our team or alternatively waiting until we return. Our services will recommence as follows:

The customer service centre will re-open as normal on Monday 25 September.

The Kempsey library will re-open as normal on Saturday 23 September.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our team is away training to better serve our community.
