We’re updating City’s Multicultural Action Plan

The City of Greater Geelong welcomes everyone and wants to provide a positive place for people of all cultures and faiths to live.

We are updating our Multicultural Action Plan so it will continue to guide our work, celebrate our City’s cultural diversity, and support people from all cultures and faiths to fully participate in our community.

Your feedback will help us develop our next Multicultural Action Plan.

What is a Multicultural Action Plan?

Our Multicultural Action Plan provides direction for Council to think, plan and deliver for the diverse needs of our culturally diverse population.

The Plan is developed in consultation with various agencies, community groups and our Multicultural Action Plan Advisory Committee.

It is important that the City of Greater Geelong work with all other service providers in Geelong to support culturally diverse communities.

The Plan is our guide to planning and delivering services for our community.

Why do we need one?

People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds often face barriers to participation.

Issues include lack of accessible information, cultural differences, racism and exclusion.

The Multicultural Plan aims to help people from different cultures and faiths feel welcome and able to fully participate in this community.

Your feedback

Feedback from our community is very important. Your feedback helps us plan and deliver services and programs that meet and support the needs of our culturally diverse population.
