Well behaved “Schoolies” on night one, South Australia

Police are happy to report there were no major incidents and a good time was had by all.

Just after 1am, Saturday 24 November, A non-school leaver was arrested after allegedly fighting on Ocean Street Victor Harbor. The 23-year-old local man was charged with fighting in a public place, he was bailed to appear in the Victor Harbor Magistrates Court on 7 January 2019.

Over 50 expiation notices were given to to Schoolies for drinking in a ‘dry zone’.

Superintendent Mark Fairney said “Its great to see so many Schoolies have taken advice from parents and police to be responsible and enjoy themselves lets hope this continues for the rest of the weekend. The volunteers from Encounter Youth continue to do a great job and are always there to help. Remember if you don’t feel safe or something doesn’t feel right the green team and police are there to help don’t hesitate to ask.”

Just a reminder Schoolies Festival is NOT a licensed event and Warland Reserve is a declared dry-zone. Save your money and don’t be tempted to drink in the dry-zone.
