WA Health is reporting 3 new cases of COVID-19 overnight.
The State’s total stands at 1099. To date, 1085 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
As of 8:00pm last night, WA Health was monitoring 5 active COVID-19 cases.
An additional 10 new cases have been reported this morning, which will be reported in tomorrow’s official numbers.
Vessel watch
The oil and chemical tanker the Stolt Sakura berthed yesterday morning at Fremantle Port to allow for WA Health public health officials to test all crew members for COVID-19 today.
On Tuesday, the captain notified WA Health that 12 out of 22 crew members had returned non-negative† rapid antigen tests for COVID-19, reporting either mild or no symptoms at that stage. 12 crew members in total have now tested positive by the PCR test.
Four crew members have now been transferred by ambulance to Fiona Stanley Hospital, two are in ICU, one in a serious but stable condition and one is in a stable condition. The other two crew members are in a stable condition.
At this stage it is expected that all other crew members will remain in isolation or quarantine on board the vessel unless they need to be transferred for medical treatment.
WA Health is continuing to work with the vessel and key maritime stakeholders regarding its ongoing management.
Case transferred to hotel quarantine
A family of three returned travellers who were self-quarantining in a serviced apartment in Northbridge were transferred via ambulance to a State Quarantine Facility on Saturday, following a positive COVID test result of a man aged in his 30s.
A small number of contacts have been identified and are being managed by WA Health public health officials.
Adelaide
A person who travelled from Victoria to South Australia, arriving at 17:25 hours in Adelaide on Friday 1 October, has returned a positive test.
Western Australian travellers on Virgin flight VA721 from Adelaide to Perth at 18:00 hours will be contacted as Adelaide Airport has been listed as an exposure site.
All travellers to Perth have been identified and contacted via SMS and the G2G system.
Anyone who has been to an exposure location listed on the SA website (external site) should quarantine until they have been advised otherwise by Public Health.
Testing clinics
Yesterday, 460 people were swabbed at State-run clinics.
