White MIA and on borrowed time

Madeleine Ogilvie,Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier

Ms White’s incorrect media release today confirms once again Labor are out of ideas, with nothing to offer Tasmanians except negativity and fear mongering.

On a day when Tasmania has reopened to the world and reunited families and loved ones, all Ms White could manage was to bowl up insults from behind a computer screen.

In fact, Ms White has spent the past few weeks doing nothing except the occasional Facebook post whipping up fear. Today marks her first media release in two weeks. It was not worth waiting for.

Had Ms White switched on her television or radio this morning she would have seen and heard the Premier in one of his numerous interviews, and avoided making this embarrassing mistake.

Labor’s relentless negativity saw their vote go backwards in every single electorate at the May election, but it seems Ms White has learnt nothing.

Ms White and her team could not even bring themselves to welcome the historic announcement that Tasmania would host an Ashes test, for the first time in Tasmania’s history.

The Premier has in fact been front and centre of our COVID response for the past 21 months, keeping Tasmanians safe. The Deputy Premier and Health Minister also did a press conference in Launceston today.

Ms White’s desperate media release shreds what little credibility she had left, and she is clearly on borrowed time as Labor Leader.
