Wild about Shellharbour Nature Photo Competition winners to be announced

In celebration of World Environment Day, over 100 people are expected to attend Shellharbour City Council’s Wild About Shellharbour Nature Photography Competition Awards night on 6 June from 6pm at the Shellharbour Civic Centre.

Six winners and six runner up prizes will be awarded across the three themes of Shellharbour’s beaches and waterways, landscapes and native plants, and native wildlife.

Sponsorship and prizes have been generously provided by local Shellharbour businesses PhotoMart, Kramer Photography, and click walk learn photography.

“The Wild About Shellharbour photo competition has provided a unique opportunity for Shellharbour City Council residents to celebrate their local natural environment,” Cr Saliba said.

“It is a wonderful way to celebrate our stunning city and all of the things that make is so special to our community.”

Over 200 entries were received. The winning entries include photos of iconic areas in Shellharbour and local native wildlife.

A shortlist of 60 images have been professionally printed and will be available for viewing at the awards night, and in the foyer of the Shellharbour Civic Centre from 8 to 20 June.

The People’s Choice winner will be determined by attendees at the awards night.
